THE 5 DAY LYMPHATIC CLEANSE with LISA LEVITT GAINSLEY
|
|
It’s Day 2 of your Cleanse, Lymph Friends! I don’t know about you, but usually I feel GREAT on Day 2. I feel more clear and energized and a little proud of myself for making the commitment to prioritizing my health! I hope you’re starting to feel that sweetness too~ and that you’re being gentle and loving towards yourself, no matter what other feelings you might be experiencing… In case you missed yesterday’s kick off class, you can watch the Replay HERE.

FIRST THING: JOURNAL. Before you get out of bed, write in your journal. If you remember your dream, write it down. Write the first few things that come to your mind, how you feel, any goals, manifestations, wishes. Brush your teeth when you wake up in the morning. This will help remove plaque buildup. Drink room temperature water (or warm water) with lemon. This will aid your digestion, support your lymphatic system in removing metabolic waste and help carry nutrients to your cells. Please continue to drink plenty of water throughout the day as it will help increase metabolism, lubricate your joints and is one of the building blocks to glowing skin!
MID MORNING: Liver Flush Drink. In Chinese Medicine the Liver & Gallbladder are organs associated with Spring (which hopefully is right around the corner.) These organs filter blood from your digestive tract, break down fat in your intestines, detoxify chemicals and drugs, and produces a whopping 25-50% of lymph that flows through the thoracic duct. Some of the emotions associated with these organs are anger, irritability, impatience, rigidity, indecision, and nervousness. If you can relate to any of these feelings ~ give this drink a try! (Don’t drink if you’re pregnant or nursing as you don’t need to cleanse now.)
Ingredients: 1 grapefruit, peeled & chopped 1 lemon, peeled & chopped 2 Tbsp olive oil A pinch of cinnamon (or cayenne if you can tolerate it) 1-2 tsp. ground flax seeds A pinch or two of freshly sliced ginger 1/2 - 3/4 cup water Place ingredients in blender on high until smooth. Drink & enjoy! Note: Wait approx 1-2 hours after to eat OR
Green Juice (If you don’t want to make the Liver Flush Drink, make the Green Juice from yesterday.)
MORNING EXERCISE VIDEO: I created a video showing you my favorite simple morning movement. It’s a combination of chi gong exercises I learned when I was in massage school, AND some basic lymphatic self-massage strokes to stimulate your lymph nodes in your neck, ears, armpits, abdomen and thighs. This routine helps clear the mind and increases energy- I hope you enjoy it! CLICK HERE to view my morning exercises video.

BREAKFAST:
1/2 papaya OR 1/2 Grapefruit (If you chose the Liver Flush for your morning drink you should have the papaya instead of grapefruit) AND/ OR Nut butter with 1/2 apple OR Quinoa grain bowl with veggies (if you need more food)
MID AFTERNOON: Take a walk in your neighborhood, in nature, your backyard, through an art gallery, a sculpture garden etc. Listen to some music, a podcast, call a friend, or do something that feels joyful! Don’t take a work call or return a stressful email. Carve out some date time with yourself where you are walking and feeding your senses.
LUNCH: Brussel Sprouts, Kale & Blueberry Salad Ingredients: 1 bunch Kale 1 ½ cups shredded Brussel sprouts ½ cup blueberries Handful of thinly sliced almonds (optional)
Salad dressing by Kelly LeVeque (Be Well by Kelly) Ingredients: 1 clove garlic ½ tsp Dijon mustard ½ tsp honey 2 TBSP apple cider vinegar Juice of a mandarin Sea salt 4 TBSP Olive oil Whisk and serve over salad
BUY YOURSELF SOME FRESH FLOWERS: Get some beautiful blossoms and place them in a common area in your home- and another vase on your nightstand. Let them serve as a reminder that you are investing in yourself, your well-being and inner beauty.
MID AFTERNOON SNACK: White bean dip recipe: In a blender place a can of cannellini white beans, 1/3 cup Olive oil, the juice of 1 lemon, garlic powder, salt, 1/2 cup water. Blend until smooth. Top with fresh basil. Next, cut up long slices of celery, cucumber, jicama and carrots and set aside to make the white bean dip. Dip fresh veggies in the dip and enjoy!
DINNER: I highly recommend making this easy and delicious Red Detox Beet Soup with Coconut and Lime from SIBO guru & Author Phoebe Lapine. Beets are wonderful for the lymphatic system and this soup is both nourishing and cleansing. It does call for coconut milk, but you can omit that (I don’t use coconut milk and it’s still amazing) The other thing I like about soup for dinner is that it’s fulfilling without being too heavy. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

EVENING LYMPHATIC SELF-MASSAGE
Continue doing the abdominal lymphatic self-massage video from yesterday. I recommend doing it when you’re lying down. I like to massage my belly when I’m watching tv, or right before I go to sleep. This massage helps calm the nervous system, aids your digestion, and can reduce inflammation and bloating. Practice this massage each night during the cleanse.

|
GET PROPER SLEEP Get off your screen early and get into bed with a cup of herbal tea and a good book. The Glymphatic system in your brain works with your CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) to clear out amyloid plaque when you’re asleep (the plaque that’s involved with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neuro-degenerative diseases). Getting proper rest is vital to your body’s cleansing function. JOURNAL Keep a journal by your bed. Before you go to sleep write down how you felt today. What you liked about the day, and the routine. If there’s something you want to do differently tomorrow, write that down too. Finally, write down a goal/ manifestation/ wish for this year.
